Apple’s September 9th event is nearly here, and you know what that means: last-minute rumors galore.
The New York Times weighs in today with several new tidbits, including details about the iWatch. Not only will Apple’s wearable sport a curved sapphire glass display, but it will reportedly power up via wireless charging.

The iWatch, which the Times’ sources at Apple call one of Cupertino’s “most ambitious projects to date,” will have a “flexible display panel that is protected by a cover composed of sapphire.” The Times first reported that Apple was working on a curved display for a wearable years ago.

Another interesting detail is that the iWatch’s circuit board is apparently “the size of a postage stamp.” Previous reports have said the iWatch will feature a system-on-a-chip design to accommodate size constraints.

While Apple holds patents related to wireless charging, the iWatch has not been previously reported as utilizing the feature. Apple experimented with solar charging, but the Times says the experiments didn’t work out.
